Objective for the week (3/10/2021 - 3/17/2021):
The objective for the week is to implement the docking system into the dashboard. This allows a person to view the status of the docking mechanism and bogie for the charging station. Moreover, the objective is to mount the docking mechanism on the superway track.
Individual tasks:
Pedro Serenini:
Mount the docking mechanism on the superway track.
Assist integrating the devices.
Yit Voon Yap (Nick):
Mount the docking mechanism on the superway track.
Assist integrating the devices.
Phuc Tran:
Continue developing a dashboard/control panel for the charging station.
Assist integrating the devices.
Use SolidWorks to demonstrate/create the docking mechanism.
Work on the docking mechanism code to implement the docking system into the Node-RED dashboard.
Jacob Villanueva:
Track the progress of the IoT team.
Individual progress:
Phuc Tran:
Created a MQTT server for the design center.
Created a Node-RED dashboard for the charging station.
The dashboard can connect to the MQTT server.
Will continue to further develop the dashboard.
Successfully connected the ESP 32 to the MQTT server.
The docking mechanism data will be sent to the server.
Created a scaled CAD model of the track to demonstrate the placement of the docking mechanism.
Will continue to work on the mounting.
Yit Voon Yap (Nick) and Pedro Serenini:
Utilized the ESP 32, linear actuator, ultrasonic sensor, and switch to create the docking mechanism.
Added 2 limit switches.
Created the code for the docking mechanism.
The docking mechanism functions properly.
Measured the track dimensions for the CAD model.
Jacob Villanueva:
Continuing to work with Node-RED, researching GUI standards.
Defining specifications for charging station focused dashboard.
